Velosync ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this Privacy Policy. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the minimum data necessary to provide our services:

• Account Information: A unique Velosync ID is generated for each user.
• Strava Data: If you connect Strava, we store activity and profile data (e.g., activity metrics, profile image, name) as permitted by your authorization.
• Google/Sheets Data: If you connect Google Sheets, we may store metadata such as sheet names or URLs that you provide.
• Payment Data: Subscription information may be processed through PayPal or other providers, but Velosync does not store your credit card details.
• Log Data: Like most web services, we may collect limited technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps to maintain security and service performance.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide and operate the Velosync platform (e.g., syncing activities, rendering dashboards).
• To personalize your experience and remember your session.
• To maintain and improve our service, including debugging and analytics.
• To communicate with you about updates, security notices, or support issues.
• To comply with legal obligations where required.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your information is stored securely in cloud infrastructure using industry-standard encryption and access controls. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

Velosync uses cookies and local storage to maintain your session (e.g., your Velosync ID) and to cache recent activity data for faster loading. These are not used for advertising or tracking across other websites.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with trusted service providers who enable Velosync to function (e.g., Strava, Google, PayPal), and only to the extent necessary to provide the service you have requested.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only as long as needed to provide the Velosync service. If you disconnect Strava or Google Sheets, related tokens are deleted. You may request full deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us (see Contact section below), and we will permanently remove your data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Children’s Privacy

Velosync is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will provide notice (for example, via the site homepage or email). Continued use of Velosync after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
